Admit Everyone

Combine sound-minimizing headphones, healthy snacks in the concession stands, and a theater of kids and families who understand the symptoms of autism, and you've got the makings for a fantastic Saturday morning event. The people at Burns Court Cinema have taken this into consideration. They are the host of the first Face Autism movie showing. During these events, kids with autism and their families are treated to a morning of fun and acceptance during a special showing of Toy Story 3.

All the flashing lights, the loud and sudden sounds that most movie-goers crave can be sensory-overload for a child with autism. What many children might see as an enjoyable experience are hyper stimulative to children with disorders on the Autism spectrum. Fortunately, accommodating events like this make movies accessible to these children who might not otherwise be able to participate in activities that are popular among their peers.
